Style is an important element in an artist's work, it comes from deep inside an artist's subconscious mind where the mysteries lie, where his comprehension of reality may be flawed a little, or a lot.

Style reveals just how an artist sees life, some artists see life as real and their work mirrors what they see with the nuances of how they see it. Other artists are influenced by a deeply confused subconscious mind that gives them a view of life that is unreal, and their work shows it.

Style identifies one artist from another the way their faces do.
